what are the advantages and disadvantages of using solar energy?
Advantages :
1. Cheap,
2. Only installation cost (maintenance cost is too low to mention)
3. Environment friendly (no pollution at all, green energy)
4. Renewable energy
Disadvantages :
1. No sun, no power (rainy days, cloudy days)
2. Power generation per unit surface area is low. To power a house completely by a solar panel, the surface area of the panel required would be 8-10 times of that of the house.

where can i find good information on solar energy?
for a science project, i need to answer the following questions;
Are there any harmful wastes produced by this technology?
Does this technology consume natural resources which can not be renewed?
Will natural habitats be adversely affected by this technology?
Are there any concerns to public health and safety?
any suggestions on where i could find these facts? aside from google…
A good solar hot water panel system is able to provide an average household with around a … useful information from Wikipedia on solar hot water panels.
why india has not been able to take up solar energy power generators and devices at a faster rate?
That fully depends on the budget that India has. Indian Govt. is also not that interested in developing nation’s facilities.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of solar energy?
Will rate the best answer thank’s.
The only advantage of solar energy is it allows those who champion it to feel "superior" to those who don’t.
The main disadvantages of solar energy are its unsustainable subsidy costs and poor reliability.
Solar generating currently receives $24.30 per megawatt-hour (mWh) in subsidies. Natural gas electricity generating receives $0.25 per mWh in subsidies; coal electricity generating receives $0.45 per mWh in subsidies. If the subsidies were reduced to $0.70 per mWh solar generating would be history.
Solar generating is only productive for approximately 8 hours a day – or less. Electricity can’t be stored in tanks like oil or natural gas. Batteries are required for storing electricity and they are expensive, wear out and require replacement and can, under the right conditions, suffer a catastrophic failure by exploding.

how do i build a solar panel from scratch?
Well theres a couple of people on my street having solar panels installed on to their buildings and i went further into this and found out that there quite expensive so i was wondering how could i build one my self ? cheapest way possible please.
you can buy the cells and assemble on a flat frame yourself..
I spent 200$…and hooked up inverters with a deep cell battery bank….
I now have the electric company pay me.
Take that you Public Utility.!!!!!
Solar Energy? Whats enviromental and what do experts say???????
I need help, my science project is due and i need to find some enviromental facts and what do some experts say about it???? please help me!!
Solar energy is energy from sun light. Either by heating water or creating electricity with solar panels. Environmentalist oppose solar power. But then environmentalist oppose everything

Good things about SOLAR ENERGY?
What are the good things about solar power?
I need not just the fact but ALSO THE PROOFS (ex. the efficiency raised from 7–8% to 15–20%.)
energy created passively from a natural process with no emissions into water or air
relative consistency and abundance given a clear day
available over most heavily populated regions. Polar regions are not practical for solar power, but not highly populated either.
What are some advantages and disadvantages of solar energy?
I have to do my Science work for Presentation tomorrow, Please help!
Advantages:
It’s green energy, no pollution like fossil fuels
It doesn’t deplete
It doesn’t require any drilling
Once set solar panels require little maintenance
It takes advantage of the largest source of energy known in the solar system.
Biggest Advantage: IT DOESN’T COST $4 A FREAKING GALLON.
Disadvantages:
Current solar technology is years behind where it should be
It is not yet a practical replacement for fossil fuel
Terrestrial solar panels only work at daytime.
How to build solar panels?
How to build solar panels at home and where can I learn to do it.
I don’t want to pay thousands to buy a ready made one, and would love the experience of building one for cheap.
I built one myself and I can immediately say, your making the right decision for doing the same… trust me you’ll save thousands with your solar panels. Building one is actually really easy and straight forward if you’ve got the right guide that prescribes the right and best "ingredients" to build one.
The guide I used made things a hella lot easier for me, I am not an engineer or mechanical guy whatsoever but with the guide I bought I built one in under a week.
I seriously recommend you check out the guide I used. It is sent to you in CD format and is very easy to follow. It’s good also because it splits the steps up into 6 seperate parts that make things simpler for anyone looking to build their solar panels.
It’s a great DIY project to get involved in, even if you don’t mind fossil fueled power.
You can find the link to the video guide in my source.
what size cable for a 80 watt solar pannel?
Although you could get away with smaller wire, I would suggest using 10 AWG wire, something UV-resistant (unless you’re going to bother putting it in conduit for such a small system), and rated for 90 degrees C or better, and wet location in case it rains. Wire with USE-2 insulation would meet these requirements.
If your system is more than one panel, or has a large battery, you probably want to have a larger wire coming out of the battery to the inverter, beause more current will be flowing there.
