Solar power generator?

admin on January 31st, 2010

I need to build a solar power generator that can power a double wide trailer with a 35 inch TV, refrigerator, washer & dryer, laptop, 3 clocks, and an air conditioner all at the same time. We don’t use the washer & dryer all the time but when we have family over they wash they’re clothes as we play video games. I want to same energy so I want to know how big I can make it, can someone help me? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY! NO SPAM, NO JOKES!

You do not need a generator!!!! What you need is Solar Panels and a place store the energy you don’t use at night.

How do i choose a solar pannel array?

admin on January 31st, 2010

i live in florida and after the recent power outedgeds i would like to puchase some sollar pannel arrays for powering my house. i do live in the sun shine stat after all. thanks

For a grid tie only system.

For a grid tie with battery backup.

Once you find the size of a system that you need, you do need to make sure the system will work in your area. Normally a solar power system is built for the climate it will be used in.

A system built for a cold area will not work correctly in your area. The colder and the brighter the sun the more power the array will put out and could damage the inverter. If the system was built for a cold area and put in a hot climate it may not have enough power on hot days to start the inverter.

So start by understanding what a solar power system is and what size you need and what one cost. Then you will be ready to talk to a solar dealer. Most dealers will be happy to help you but the more you know that better.

solar energy facts and info?

admin on January 31st, 2010

does anyone know how much of the world is powered by solar energy?
and
what are some positive side effects of solar energy, if any?

Well technically the first answer is right, the entire world is powered by solar energy if you consider the fact that oil coal and gas are products of decomposed plants etc over a time period of millions of years.

As for solar energy facts, if we are talking about solar energy in the form of electricity from solar panels then its less than 1 percent as far as I know.

If you count in hydro electric and wind power ( wind and rain are also caused by the sun) its a bit more but still not a significant amount. But for some easy and simple explanations try the following:

what are some advantages and disadvantages of solar energy?

Advantages:
(1) lower marginal cost for increasing energy production (you don’t have to build a new coal fired facility to achieve a small increase in power production);
(2) fewer issues with greenhouse gas production
(3) distributed power production;
(4) some independence from the grid.

Disadvantages:

(1) dependency on insolation (it works better in Arizona than in the Yukon);
(2) initial installation cost for individual homeowner (but this is changing with new financing methods);
(3) sensitivity to weather
(4) it may require neighbors to be cooperative by not growing trees that block rooftop solar arrays;

I’m doing my science fair project on solar energy and i need to know how to make a solar panel out of household objects. I found a website that said it is possible to build one out of a box, paint, plastic, and aluminum foil but I can’t find out how.

If you are trying to build a solar oven you can get some great ideas and free plans at: Solar Cookers International: http://solarcooking.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Solar_cooker_designs

And like the other have said Build it Solar has lots of great solar energy projects: http://www.builditsolar.com/

If you are trying to build your own solar panels that is a little more involved and you will need supplies that are not in your home but this can still be done as a do-it-yourself project: http://www.applied-solar.info/earth4energy-homemade-power/

This is on of our new 55.7″ Paraboloids that produces almost 2K of solar power. They are beasts when it comes to solar heating. I hope to do videos with Steam and Stirling Engines to provide a working model that actually can be used to produce some power. These boil 12 oz of water in under a minute. Still testing and will have videos on that soon. Please Rate this video and subscribe to our channel.

MAKE CHEAP SOLAR PANEL in 1 hour

Make solar panels:
The fact is that most people don’t know about the benefits of generating renewable energy themselves. They also don’t know how easy it is to do this.

They just pay $1,000s a year in electricity without having a clue that there is a much better way…
The Easiest, Cheapest Way
To Generate Renewable Energy

There are many solutions to produce renewable energy.

However, most of the products are not designed to produce the electricity needed for home supply. They cost fortunes and are only usable in the corporate world.

Some companies have developed products for generating home wind power or solar power, but they cost $1,000s for only one product. And this doesn’t even include installation.

Luckily this is where we come in. HomeMadeEnergy.org will teach you everything you need to have your own solar or wind power system for $200 or even less.

I’ve made countless tests to make sure that these are the most effective methods for producing heaps of energy.

And once I had these plans, I wrote them out professionaly for the “average Joe”, with plain English words. Anyone can understand and use them. (Even a 15-year old kid!).

And before releasing them in a guide, I’ve given them to many test subjects to see if all of them can succeed in generating enough electricity to power their home. How Would You Like To UNPLUG Your
House From Your Electrical Company,
Knowing That You Are “100% Powered
By Nature” With Renewable Energy.

How to build a solar pannel for your ipod

admin on January 30th, 2010

This is a tutorial of how to build a solar pannel charger for your ipod. This is for the householdhacker how to video contest. The music used is “Start Me Up” by The Rolling Stones, “Time Has Come Today” by the Chambers Brothers, and “Goodbye Stranger” by Supertramp. This is not my music and I am not claiming it to be mine. This video is for demonstration purposes only. Do not attempt this.
